I am teaching myself to paint as I believe that a self education is invaluable. The bulk of my paintings are abstract pieces, mostly unplanned, letting the brush and canvas dictate their direction and each represents a transitory subconscious fleet of emotions. I have studied the form from realism to its abstraction and am currently studying portraiture and Caribbean art. I am currently working on a series of paintings that reflect and explore my Dominican roots. I also hope to combine all of the skills I have acquired and styles I have explored to date to produce a series of paintings that will symbolize 10 things that I socially should not be, that I most certainly am. The first: I am an artist.
I am Currently showing at Word up Bookstore in Washington Heights and The Alchemist Lounge in Brooklyn with previous showings at JujoMukti Tea Lounge and Sapphire Lounge.
I am also Hostess/Assistant Creative Director of Mike Geffner Presents The Inspired Word, a weekly performance series movement, and Art Coordinator for JujoMukti Tea Lounge (LES) and The Alchemist Lounge (BK).
